Update: Tanna project proceeds in the rain

When Karl got in last evening, he was wet and covered to the knees in mud. I made him strip at the door and go straight to the shower! While I was washing out the socks in the sink, he asked for his jeans in the shower. Uh, okay… Well, they and he got the mud sluiced off, so I guess that is what counts!

Karl was very encouraged with what they had accomplished that day and with the aptitude of the guys that came to work. The building is laid out, first eight holes dug and seven anchor posts are cemented in.

Sounds like the annual workday for your church is island wide…they have a crew coming in at this church just like at the second ODC site. The ground cover needs to be removed and the lot leveled a bit, so that will keep the non-construction types busy. With the men that helped on Friday leading a few more men, they can continue to dig and set the anchor posts. Pastor Tommy can teach a group to assemble trusses, and Karl will keep an eye on things while he builds the scaffold. Well, that’s the plan. It is still supposed to be rainy, so we will see how things go.
