Update on our lodging status...

Written Friday-14-May-2010
It appears that Pastor Tomas has the clout… well, actually there is a misprint in our handy-dandy guide book involved as well. There truly are bungalows that are over $300 US/night, but the “villas” we are in are less pricey. However, the fact that the wife of the owning couple it is one of Tomas’ parishioners, as well as much of the staff, figures into a VERY lovely discount. In other words, we are not moving out. Do I hear any cheers?

Photos: Our Tanna abode.
Tree growing out the top of our bathroom roof, skinny tree in foreground is frangipani, kind of the national flower.  Female flight attendents for VanuatuAir wear one in their hair, it is printed on fabric, made into leis, used in local logos, much of the local jewelry uses the motif whether made of seed, shell, wood, whatever.

  1. oh my frangipani grows in Puerto Rico too. Along the road in great high hedges and at night it smells so wonderful. Am enjoying your blog and so glad you could stay in that pretty bungalow.
