Within minutes of reaching the beach at the end of the bush walk, snorkeling gear was pulled out. We all quickly found stuff that fit us, more or less, and headed out into the sea. The water was quite shallow for as far out as we were interested in going (350-400 meters).
The snorkeling was lovely, gobs of different fish and living reef. Kit found Nemo in some anemone. We all wished for an underwater camera. Kit had fun photographing beach combings and hermit crabs, though.Karl sat around about a half hour before joining us and visited with our Lelepa guide, Aaron. His older brother owns the tour company, sounds like the eleven year old business is pretty much family run. Our business manager at the mission was the one to contact them and we were given a very generous discount. I thought it was rather interesting that they advertised on their flyer they did not do fishing trips on Saturdays… only to discover they are Adventists, which explained a lot. They were very interested in the One Day Church for their island and were disappointed that they were all allocated.
